SACRAMENTO, CALIF. (August 4, 2009) - A peer-led health education and counseling program designed to help patients manage their chronic illnesses initially had some positive outcomes but did not improve patient health after one year, according to new research from UC Davis.
It was a DNA match on a cold-hit submission by the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office in 2002 that identified Hirschfield as a suspect. The defendant was extradited from Washington in 2004 and charged in Sacramento with murdering the 18-year-old victims.
